A Cup Full of Filth

In October 2025, the Vatican granted Muslim scholars their own private prayer room, complete with a carpet so that they may bow down before their false god!

“Such actions are not “interfaith bridges.” They are altars built to Baal inside the temple of the Lord … When Christian institutions invite prayers to a false god, they are not showing kindness–they are giving legitimacy to lies. The Church cannot point people to Christ while offering space for worship that denies His very name … The Vatican may open its doors to false gods, but Christ still stands at the door of His true Church and knocks. He calls His people to faithfulness, not popularity–to conviction, not compromise.” from Prophecy News Watch.

This is a definite compromise! But as the “great harlot” of Revelation 17, this is no surprise! The RCC is a syncretic organization that seeks to combine Christianity with pagan ideas. “Come out of her [Babylon], My people!”

ABOMINATIONS

REV 17:4 The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the filthiness of her fornication.

The passage speaks of the golden cup filled with abominations.

Matthew Henry’s Concise Commentary The golden cup represents the allurements, and delusions, by which this mystical Babylon has obtained and kept her influence, and seduced others to join her abominations. She is named, from her infamous practices, a mother of harlots; training them up to idolatry and all sorts of wickedness.

Barnes’ Notes on the Bible: …The word, in the Scriptures, is commonly used to denote the impurities and abominations of idolatry …. The meaning here is, that it seemed to be a cup filled with wine, but it was in fact a cup full of all abominable drugs, leading to all kinds of corruption. How much in accordance this is with the fascinations of the papacy, it is not necessary now to say, after the ample illustrations of the same thing …

THE ABOMINATION of IDOLATRY

Idolatry is an abomination to the LORD, a filthy, detestable act. The God of Creation, who loved the world and gave His life for it, when He sees people bowing to a creation instead of the Creator, His heart must sink. Idolatry, brings one into contact with these filthy spirits.

EZE 8:5 Then He said to me, “Son of man, lift your eyes now toward the north.” So I lifted my eyes toward the north, and there, north of the altar gate, was this image of jealousy in the entrance. … 13 And He said to me, “Turn again, and you will see greater abominations that they are doing.” 14 So He brought me to the door of the north gate of the Lord’s house; and to my dismay, women were sitting there weeping for Tammuz [a false god]. 15 Then He said to me, “Have you seen this, O son of man? Turn again, you will see greater abominations than these.” 16 So He brought me into the inner court of the Lord’s house; and there, at the door of the temple of the Lord, between the porch and the altar, were about twenty-five men with their backs toward the temple of the Lord and their faces toward the east, and they were worshiping the sun toward the east.

They were worshiping the sun! The Roman Catholics are bowing down to a piece of bread in a holder, a monstrance, that looks like the sun. This is Baal worship!

ABOMINATIONS of SOLOMON

Solomon had 700 wives and he followed them, instead of following the LORD, into idolatry!

1 Kings 11:5 For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites. 6 Solomon did evil in the sight of the Lord, and did not fully follow the Lord, as did his father David. 7 Then Solomon built a high place for Chemosh the abomination of Moab, on the hill that is east of Jerusalem, and for Molech the abomination of the people of Ammon. 8 And he did likewise for all his foreign wives, who burned incense and sacrificed to their gods. 9 So the Lord became angry with Solomon … 11 Therefore the Lord said to Solomon, “Because you have done this, and have not kept My covenant and My statutes, which I have commanded you, I will surely tear the kingdom away from you and give it to your servant.

Solomon’s abominations caused him to lose the kingdom. Now, people can lose the holy, righteous Kingdom of God!

SEVEN ABOMINATIONS

PRO 6:16 These six things the Lord hates,
Yes, seven are an abomination to Him:
17 A proud look,
A lying tongue,
Hands that shed innocent blood,
18 A heart that devises wicked plans,
Feet that are swift in running to evil,
19 A false witness who speaks lies,
And one who sows discord among brethren.

One might say that I “sow discord among brethren”. However, I am not sowing discord among true brothers and sisters. I am only alerting you to those false prophets and teachers and the lies they espouse! Even Jesus Christ warned against false prophets. I back everything up with Scripture and history, not with the traditions of man.

There are true Christians amongst the laity of Roman Catholics. I once was a Catholic myself. It is the hierarchy of that church who is at fault: not teaching the whole Word of God and bringing in paganism and idolatry. I think it highly likely that some pope will be the end-time false prophet that is thrown into the lake of fire.

At the DAY of the LORD, Babylon will fall. Would I not be at fault if I didn’t give a warning?

EZE 3:17 “Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore hear a word from My mouth, and give them warning from Me:”

A PROUD LOOK

Let’s go through this quote from Proverbs and see how this fits to the Roman Catholic Church.

The RCC puts forth that they are the One True Church.* That’s a bit arrogant! Initially, the believers in Christ were called “The WAY”, and then called Christians – not Catholics.

ACTS 9:1 Then Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest 2 and asked letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, so that if he found any who were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.

The RCC leads one to believe that the word “catholic” since it’s in their name, they are the One True Church. But the word “catholic” in its original Greek sense, means “universal” or “according to the whole.” When Ignatius wrote in his Letter to the Smyrnaeans around A.D. 107, this is what he was wrote:

“Wherever Jesus Christ is, there is the catholic Church.”
— Ἡ καθολικὴ ἐκκλησία (Greek)

This had no connection to Rome whatsoever. However, the RCC lets on that it does. The word later became capitalized and institutionalized as “Roman Catholic” only many centuries later — after the papacy gained control through lies and forcing people to convert to Catholicism.

(Incidentally, there are other Catholic churches besides Roman!)

At the Vatican II conference in 1964, the hierarchy did not deny that the Catholic Church is the One True Church; it re-expressed* it as acknowledging God’s work among other Christians and even other religions. They are looking for that One World Religion and they don’t want to offend! However, the RCC puts forth that they alone possess the complete means of salvation.

*Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) §816, quoting Lumen Gentium (Vatican II, 1964)

Actually, what Jesus Christ taught on salvation is that one must be born-again of the Spirit to have eternal life!

A different subject: Couldn’t “a proud look” include the popes and hierarchy in their fine costumes? Did the apostles wear these elaborate clothes?

A LYING TONGUE

The Roman Catholic Church outright lied with a fabricated “list of popes” that made them seem to be the One True Church. Pope Hormisdus who was in office from 514-523AD was maybe the first to have this list of popes. Some say this list, Liber Pontificalis, is an “unofficial instrument of pontifical propaganda.”

(The list of bishops, NOT popes with a universal headship, by Irenaeus of Lyons is valid but it only goes to the 13th bishop of Rome, circa 189AD, before Constantine the Great stepped in and took over.)

Also, the fallacious Donation of Constantine was used by the Roman Catholic Church to usurp power, “giving large areas of land and related political power, as well as religious authority, to Pope Sylvester I … and his successors” in the papacy.

Common folk err because we have been misled. But this was a deliberate forgery! Who is the father of lies? Satan himself.

HANDS THAT SHED INNOCENT BLOOD

Well, thank God, the RCC is forefront in saving pre-born lives. However, they have shed innocent lives of many believers!

REV 17:6 I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. And when I saw her, I marveled with great amazement.

The RCC is responsible for the deaths of the Inquisition, martyred reformers, and people that didn’t agree with their doctrine! See Murders & Martyrs for a fuller list.

A HEART THAT DEVISES WICKED PLANS

A wicked plan would be to change the good news of salvation. In Roman Catholicism, if one dies with a “mortal sin”, then one goes to hell.

So in 1302, The Bull Unam Sanctam, under Pope Boniface VIII (1294 –1303AD) “declared that both spiritual and temporal power were under the pope’s jurisdiction, and that kings were subordinate to the power of the Roman pontiff.” It “made absolute obedience to the pope a condition of salvation.” Also, “Furthermore, we declare, we proclaim, we define that it is absolutely necessary for salvation that every human creature be subject to the Roman Pontiff.”

This is totally untrue. One must be born-again of the Spirit to be saved.

However, at the Vatican II conference in 1964, this papal bull was softened, reinterpreting it in a more “spiritual” sense. They needed to save face, for by then the RCC was losing its grip on a modern society. But the RCC is coming back subtly and plans to unite society through a One World Religion under the end-time false prophet.

FEET THAT ARE SWIFT IN RUNNING TO EVIL

As Christians, we should be “zealous for good works” (TIT 2:14), NOT EVIL. Is anti-semitism evil? The hierarchy of the RCC has engaged in works against the Jews, God’s chosen people.

For example, Pope Paul IV (1555-1559) in his document, required Jews to live in a Roman ghetto and the males to wear pointed yellow hats. Jewish women needed to wear yellow kerchiefs. How like the Nazis in later years! See Haunts of Cruelty for further atrocities done under the popes.

Yeshua was a Jew. He is the Lion of Judah! It is written:

ROM 11:25 I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers, so that you will not be conceited: A hardening in part has come to Israel, until the full number of the Gentiles has come in. 26 And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written:

“The Deliverer will come from Zion;
He will remove godlessness from Jacob.
27 And this is My covenant with them
when I take away their sins.”

A FALSE WITNESS WHO SPEAKS LIES

This has been covered under “a lying tongue”. But there’s so more!

Christians are witnesses for the faith, “once for all delivered to the saints”. We should try our best to be a good witness by our actions and by our Scriptural doctrines. However, the RCC has many man-made, unbiblical doctrines.

Three of the Marian Dogmas are not true to Scripture. The RCC also uses terms that should be for our Creator alone – not Mary. All these things create a false illusion, making a “fake Mary”, a usurper. This “fake Mary” has “apparitions” in places around the world, such as Fatima and Lourdes. People are fooled into believing this is sacred but it is so unholy and so demonic!

2COR 11:14 And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.

The RCC calls her the “queen of heaven”. However, in the Book of Jeremiah, this queen is an idol! (JER 7:18 & JER 44:19) The evil spirit behind this “fake Mary” leads one to idolatry – worship of her! Popes bow down to statues of this “fake Mary”! The hierarchy is devoted to her. If you go to the Vatican, if you are alert, you can see it for yourself. They are making her into a goddess!

CONCLUSION

The RCC holds a cup full of filth which they pass on to its members as being sacred and holy. To God Almighty, it’s an abomination!

Who but the Roman Catholic Church could be this “great whore” that rides the scarlet beast? She has not only the worldwide influence but she fits the specific details of Revelation 17 shown in this series.

My sole purpose in writing this is to awaken the true saints of God.

“Come out of her [Babylon], My people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues.” (Revelation 18:4)
