Applying Scriptures concerning the Lamb, this is a brief summary of the Book of Revelation. See Prologue to the Revelation for more articles.

John 1: 29
The next day John [the Baptist] saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!”

This refers to the suffering servant of the Almighty One that was prophesied as the Passover Lamb. This full prophecy from Isaiah is so amazingly exact!

Isaiah 53:7-8
7 He was oppressed and He was afflicted,
Yet He opened not His mouth;
He was led as a lamb [H7716] to the slaughter,
And as a sheep before its shearers is silent,
So He opened not His mouth.
8 … For the transgressions of My people He was stricken.

It is interesting that the Strong’s Concordance number in the Hebrew for lamb is H7716 or “seh”. This is almost the number almost of God “777” but it is 7716. But the “1+6” is the “crowned man”! (See this study on the Hebraic Seven.) Yeshua is the “crowned man”!

In the Book of Revelation, the LAMB [G721] is mentioned 28 times, (#1-28 in this site) excepting once when it is NOT referring to the Lamb of God (REV 13:11).

THE BOOK OF REVELATION

(This is part of the 2nd vision of John the Revelator: Revelation 4:1- 6:17.)

#1- REV 5:6

And I looked, and behold, in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth.

“Seven horns” alludes to all power. “Seven eyes” means omniscience. “Seven Spirits of God” symbolizes that Christ possesses the Spirit of God of love, wisdom, understanding, counsel, strength, knowledge, and fear of the LORD. This is also covered in more detail in my article “777 Seven 777”.

Yeshua the Messiah alone is worthy to take the scrolls in Revelation 5 and unleash them. Why is the Messiah the only one worthy to release the scrolls? Primarily, this scroll, more than releasing judgments on the earth, is a sealed title deed! Christ paid the ransom for our redemption by becoming a Passover Lamb who was slain from the foundation of the world. Therefore, Christ is so worthy!

#2 – REV 5:8

Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.

#3 – REV 5:12

saying with a loud voice: “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain To receive power and riches and wisdom, And strength and honor and glory and blessing!”

#4 – REV 5:13

And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying: “Blessing and honor and glory and power Be to Him who sits on the throne, And to the Lamb, forever and ever!”

#5 – REV 6:1

Now I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals; and I heard one of the four living creatures saying with a voice like thunder, “Come and see.”

Here, John’s spirit is in the throne room of God having this marvelous vision. He hears one of the living beings speak with a voice like thunder, “Come!” There is no “and see” in this Scripture in the Greek, but it is implied. St. John was witnessing or “seeing” future history. This is what prophets do: they have a vision and they release it.

The UNBELIEVERS

#6 – REV 6:16

and [the unbelievers] said to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb!

Thousands of years before, Isaiah prophesied this in Isaiah 2:
10 Enter into the rock, and hide in the dust,
From the terror of the Lord
And the glory of His majesty.
11The lofty looks of man shall be humbled,
The haughtiness of men shall be bowed down,
And the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day.

John sees those who will not receive redemption from the Lamb. They stubbornly refuse. The obstinate ones, who have been persecuting the saints, seek a place to hide in the mountains from the wrath of the Lamb. They are now making bomb shelters beneath the earth. But He who has ‘seven eyes’ knows where they are, and they will not escape. Their destination is Hades. How can Yeshua set up the reign of peace, His kingdom on earth, with the wicked evildoers not put a prison?

Hebrews 2:
2For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just reward, 3 how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him, 4 God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will?

The SAINTS PRAISING the LAMB

(This is in the 4th vision of John the Revelator.)

#7 – REV 7:9

After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands,

These are saints from around the world, every race and culture. I didn’t mention “creed” for these are the saints who are loyal to the Messiah. They have given their very lives for Yeshua during this great tribulation. One can compare these saints to the assembly at Smyrna who died for the sake of His name, the name of salvation.

#8 – REV 7:10

and [the saints] crying out with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!”

#9 – REV 7:14

And I said to him, “Sir, you know.” So he said to me, “These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

Before Christ, the blood of the passover lambs atoned for sin for a year. This was temporary until the Messiah. Now the blood of this one and only Passover Lamb, Yeshua, atones for eternity. We now have access into the Holy of Holies (the LIFE). That’s why the curtain in the temple was torn back when Christ died! (Matthew 27:51)

Hebrews 9:22
And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission.

Exodus 12:
21Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel and said to them, “Pick out and take lambs for yourselves according to your families, and kill the Passover lamb. 22And you shall take a bunch of hyssop, dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and strike the lintel and the two doorposts with the blood that is in the basin. And none of you shall go out of the door of his house until morning. 23For the Lord will pass through to strike the Egyptians; and when He sees the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, the Lord will pass over the door and not allow the destroyer to come into your houses to strike you.

THE GOOD SHEPHERD

So the Good Shepherd will lead all believers to the Promised Land, spiritually heaven.

#10 – REV 7:17

for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”

OVERCOMING

#11 – REV 12:11

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.

This is the central theme of the Book of Revelation. Because of the bloody death of our Passover LAMB, we were set free from the bondage of sin. The testimony in word and action of this glorious gospel sets the captives free. So many martyrs have sacrificed their lives for the love of the Lamb!

GREAT DELUSION

Delusions and lies are the enemy’s game. A great delusion is coming. Do not be deceived. When the LORD returns a second time, this will be the biggest event in history! He is coming on clouds! And every knee will bow!

The Messiah came quietly the first time in Bethlehem to atone for our sins. But there is a deceiver that will come beforehand, before the Second Coming. The devil doesn’t care how he tricks one: an antichrist could be an “alien” which is a fallen angel. Or satan in an apparition of this “fake Mary”; or the final antichrist – a charismatic possessed person “whose wound was healed” (Rev 13:3). However, Yeshua affirmed this:

Matthew 24:
23“Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There!’ do not believe it. 24 For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, I have told you beforehand.

So many will be deceived who are not willing to come to the truth…

#12 – REV 13:8

All who dwell on the earth will worship him [satan], whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

THE LAMB’S BOOK OF LIFE

“Choose life!”

Deuteronomy 30:19
I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live;

Death, in Hebraic terms, is the separation from God who is life. When we choose sin, we spiritually die. But you can be brought back to life with God through faith in Yeshua the Messiah, who is our Passover Lamb.

THE LAMB & the 144,000

This 144,000 is both literal and spiritual.

#13 – REV 14:1

Then I looked, and behold, a Lamb standing on Mount Zion, and with Him one hundred and forty-four thousand, having His Father’s name written on their foreheads.

#14,15 -REV 14:4

These [the 144,00] are the ones who were not defiled with women, for they are virgins. These are the ones who follow the Lamb wherever He goes. These were redeemed from among men, being firstfruits to God and to the Lamb.

The STUBBORN ones

This has to be prefaced by this verse:

Rev 14:9 Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand,

#16 – REV 14:10

he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb.

Will you accept by faith the Passover Lamb and be placed in the Lamb’s Book of Life. It’s much better than the dreadful alternative! You can have LIFE or death. It’s simply white and black.

The DELIVERED

Believers will be singing!

#17 – REV 15:3

They sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying: “Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty! Just and true are Your ways, O King of the saints!

REV 15:4 Who shall not fear You, O Lord, and glorify Your name? For You alone are holy. For all nations shall come and worship before You, For Your judgments have been manifested.”

Just as Moses and the Israelites were delivered, we, too, will be delivered through the blood of the Lamb!

THE BATTLE OF ARMAGEDDON

(This is in the 5th vision of John the Revelator: John 15:5 – 17:16)

This verse is speaking about the Battle of Armageddon, the final war before the LORD sets up His Kingdom on earth!

#18, 19 – REV 17:14

These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful.”

It may be that the Battle of Armageddon on earth and the Marriage of the LAMB in heaven are taking place concurrently. After the wedding, the Lamb who is also the LION of Judah will appear and put an end to this triumphantly!

2 Thessalonians 2:8 (BSB) And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will slay with the breath of His mouth and annihilate by the majesty of His arrival.

The MARRIAGE OF THE LAMB

during the FEAST OF TRUMPETS

(This is in the 7th vision of John the Revelator: John 19:1 – 22:17)

#20 – REV 19:7

Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.”

#21 – REV 19:9

Then he said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’ ” And he said to me, “These are the true sayings of God.” (See Matthew 22:1-14 and Matthew 25:1-13)

Are you called to be a Bride or a guest? The Bride has “made herself ready” by “the righteous acts of the saints”. (REV 19:8)

MESSIAH’S KINGDOM

Then there is the 1000 year reign of Christ on the earth. We should all be praying with the heart, “Thy Kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven!” The Revelation scriptures referring to the Lamb have not been used for this Millennium era. However, Christ will be reigning as the LION of Judah!

Briefly, after His 1000 year reign of His Kingdom on earth, satan and his minions are “cast into the lake of fire”. Then there is the Great White Throne judgment. And then eternity begins! The New Jerusalem comes down. There is a totally new universe set up. A scholar wrote that this would have to be a totally different universe in terms of physics. But YHVH can do anything!

FEAST OF TABERNACLES

REV 21:1 Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. 2Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. 4And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”

THE NEW JERUSALEM

22 – REV 21:9

Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls filled with the seven last plagues came to me and talked with me, saying, “Come, I will show you the bride, the Lamb’s wife.” [Greek: wife of the Lamb]

This is the New Jerusalem. A city is made up of people, in this case, saints!

23 – REV 21:14

Now the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

24 – REV 21:22

But I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.

25 – REV 21:23

And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him.

26 – REV 21:27

But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

27 – REV 22:1

And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb.

28 – REV 22:3

And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him.

Praise be to the LORD God Almighty! Praise be to the Lamb of God who turns wretched sinners into saints of God! May the LORD bless you and keep you and cause His face to shine upon you!
