Part Two of “WE FORGIVE … & THEN STAND FIRM”

“3For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh:  4(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds; 5Casting down arguments, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;”  2 Corinthians 10

The weapons of our warfare are spiritual, and done through prayer, intercession, and prophetic acts.

Voting, someone said, is a prophetic act!   In the United States, we have the right to vote.   We must have legislators who follow the word of God to the best of their ability, (for we are all sinners in the flesh!)

We cannot have politicians who think that abortion is okay, because abortion is murder!

We cannot allow politicians to run our country who think that marriage is okay for homosexuals because it “exalts itself against the knowledge of God”!  It used to be a crime in this country!  Do you know what some want next:  incest!   God forbid!  It should not be that children are forced to watch this forbidden sexual perversion!

We cannot have people who want to instill communism/socialism in this country.   Communism is anti-God!  Do you not remember the Soviet Union and Karl Marx?

Put On the Whole Armor of God (Ephesians 6)

10Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might. 11Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in heavenly places. 13Therefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14Stand therefore, having your loins girded about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16Above all, taking the shield of faith, with which you shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thus with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

COMMENTARY

You must be strong in the spirit!  (See “Yielding to the Holy Spirit”)

You must be in the spirit to be in the power of His might!  It has to do with faith, with faith in His Word!

You must be able to STAND FIRM!    In this small passage of Scripture, “stand” is repeated three times!  Roman soldiers had hobnails to STAND FIRM!   

We must STAND FIRM in our commitment to the TRUTH of the Word of God!  We must STAND FIRM in our commitment to righteousness!  We must STAND FIRM in that Jesus Christ is the WAY of salvation!

And so we will be persecuted.

“all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution”  2 Timothy 3:12

“But I [Jesus Christ] say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.” Matthew 5:44

So, forgive… and then STAND FIRM!
