HOW TO BE SPIRIT-FILLED
We are to live thusly as children of God:
ONLY WITH JESUS CHRIST are we able to live in and by the HOLY SPIRIT!
Thus, we should have this order of authority in our lives:
- The Holy Spirit of Christ
- The new spirit in Christ (being born-again!)
- The soul in the process of sanctification to become like Christ
- The body
“… be filled with the Spirit …
singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord”
“The one who speaks in a tongue builds up himself, but the one who prophesies builds up the church. Now I want you all to speak in tongues, but even more to prophesy.”
(1 Corinthians 14:4-5)
My book, Joy Is A Jewel, gives a lengthy explanation of this in the Chapter on “Joy and Happiness.”
John 3:5-8 (NKJV)
5 Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
This illustration gives an example of the dead spirit and the born-again spirit!
A soul, which everyone has, includes the mind, will, and emotions.
When you sin, your spirit dies to God, so it must be born-again! (See Christ Bore Our Sin)
A soul without Christ VS. a soul WITH CHRIST
“Apprehend” is a prophetic word that was given on Sunday, August 25th, 2013. It was an exhortation to apprehend the Kingdom of God. Twice the pastor also referred to apprehending the things of God in the sermon.
On the morning of September 12, 2013, the day after the 12th anniversary of 9/11/01*, the LORD brought me to His promises of revival for the US: Isaiah 51:5
Isaiah 51:5 “The coastlands [US and most likely all Americas] WILL wait upon Me.”
Isaiah 40:31: “They that wait upon the LORD SHALL renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles.” (Emphasis mine) GLORY to GOD! Proclaim it! And give thanks!
