31Behold, the days come, says Yahweh, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
This is a brand new covenant!
32not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they broke, although I was a husband to them, says Yahweh.
The Israelites broke the old covenant. After the fall of man, it was only natural. No one… except One… could keep it.
33But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says Yahweh: I will put my law in their inward parts, and in their heart will I write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people: 34and they shall teach no more every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know Yahweh; for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says Yahweh: for I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin will I remember no more.
THE BOOK OF HEBREWS
This epistle was reiterated to the Hebrew people (Hebrews 8:10 and Hebrews 10:16) after Yeshua HaMashiach died on the cross for the sins of mankind and rose again from the dead! He is the One who did keep the Torah!
When we have faith in Christ, the Anointed One, we are “born again” and we receive the Holy Spirit, the Ruach HaKadosh.
“Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to Him.” Romans 8:9b
This is how God writes it in our hearts! God abides with us in our hearts. Sometimes, though, many of us are carnal or soul-ish, not reading the Word of God! We are to listen to His Holy Spirit, that directs our new spirit, and we are to put the soul and carnal nature under submission to the will of God! Sadly, there is a lack of teaching in mainstream Christianity about this!
SIDE NOTE: There were Christians like Corrie ten Boom, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, and many others that were close to the LORD and knew His ways to help the Jewish people in their time of trouble. These people had God abiding in their hearts! Many sacrificed their lives for the sake of others as we are supposed to do.
“I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.” Ezekiel 36:26
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” 2 Corinthians 5:17
Our old spirit died when we first sinned, as Adam and Eve died spiritually on that fatal day when they ate the forbidden fruit.
“Their sin will I remember no more”
This is the promise of God in Jeremiah. (31:34) Why will God remember it no more? It is under the blood sacrificed by Yeshua, Jesus Christ!
12 But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, He sat down at the right hand of God, 13 waiting from that time until His enemies should be made a footstool for His feet. 14 For by a single offering He has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified. (Hebrews 10)
God promised to Adam and Eve to send a Savior, the Son of God and the Son of man, to redeem us, to translate us into His Kingdom of Light.
“He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son” Colossians 1:13
God will give us a new spirit when we come to faith in Jesus, Yeshua HaMashiach. This is the will of God. Christ said:
“If anyone’s will is to do God’s will, he will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own authority.” John 7:17
Come to the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY, Yeshua, for forgiveness of sins! Be saved from this darkness and step into His Light!
