Do you REALLY WANT the LORD to RETURN?
Or are you LUKEWARM?
Maybe you are newlyweds. Maybe you just had a baby and want to see that baby grow. All good things, praise the LORD, but the return of Christ will be the fulfillment of the promise that we have as Christians!
Maybe you have a new profession and are excited about the opportunities. Maybe you have it made in the shade. You’re well and well-off. But maybe you have LEFT YOUR FIRST LOVE, the love of Christ.
SO DO YOU REALLY WANT THE LORD TO RETURN?
THE SUFFERING CHURCH
Maybe you are being tortured for your faith in Christ. Maybe you are in prison for the cause of Christ. I would say that most persecuted Christians really want the LORD to return!
“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God.” Romans 8:18-19
If you have LEFT YOUR FIRST LOVE or are LUKEWARM, remember the suffering church. Pray for those who are persecuted for the cause of Christ and that will turn your heart!
In the book of Revelation, I want to be in the church that had NO REBUKES: “Suffering Smyrna” (Rev 2:8-11) or “Faithful Philadelphia” (Rev 3:7-13)! See the Seven Churches Chart. We may never be required to suffer much for Christ, but at least we can pray for those who are being tortured! We can truly show “brotherly love.”
