Last March (2025), I was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, a bone disease. I was 5′ 7”, and now I am not even 4′ 11″. Many of my older grandchildren are now taller than me! My spine has shrunk. I’m praying for a miracle as the doctors say this disease is incurable. But nothing is too difficult for Yahweh Rapha! Praise God, I am not normally in too much pain. Aspirin helps. I have treatments now twice a week.
Is this a LACK OF FAITH?
However, the prophet Job came down with boils, but it was to show that this righteous man wouldn’t give up his faith in God!
Then there was the blind man who Yeshua healed.
JOHN 9:1 Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth. 2 And His disciples asked Him, saying, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” 3 Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him.”
I’m praying that the works of God would be revealed in me.
PRAYING FOR THE SICK
There is always a need for healing: babies with cancer; wounded veterans; people hurt in bad car accidents; people aging. Do these many Christians have no faith in healing? Surely some do! Yet they continue on in their faith in God!
Many notable pastors and leaders have undergone surgeries such as Pastor David Jeremiah who was using a walker for a while. My own Pastor, who is well into his eighties, has had many physical set-backs but he is still preaching!
Even Joel Osteen prayed for his dad John Osteen who needed healing. However, he went on into glory in 1999 after a heart attack. Yet his mother had been cured of cancer years earlier.
We prayed for many in our church to be healed but some of them have died. Are all these many Christians not having faith in healing? Or it is time for them to go to our heavenly home? We have an elderly congregation and sickness is a common way for people to die. Yet, for Christians, we don’t die spiritually! We are going to a place where “God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” (REV 21:4)
So, that more people will enjoy this Kingdom of God, I continue to share my faith in the Messiah. Having a long time waiting for a doctor’s visit, I shared my faith with a nice Jewish lady. That wouldn’t have happened if I had been well. I trust God that He knows what He is doing!
ROM 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
People bless me as well, going out of their way to help me; taking things down from top shelves in grocery stores; opening doors. I tell them “God bless you!” or later pray for them. Many Texans are Christians and it shows! I love living in Texas!
THE REDEMPTION OF OUR BODY
Our body is not yet redeemed. Someday at the “resurrection of the just” (Luke 14:14), our bodies will be changed into a spiritual body suitable for heaven. This is when we are changed in the “twinkling of an eye”! (1COR 15:52)
ROM 8:23 Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body. 24 For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? 25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.
But I am still praying for a miracle. In the meantime, I try to live for the LORD! And in my weakened condition, it affords me lots of time to write!
I know this miracle will happen, even if it happens at “the redemption of our bodies” at the last trump. Yet I pray it will be in this lifetime here on earth, if that be God’s perfect plan for my life. “Thy will be done!”
This is the Word that the LORD gave me (May 21st, 2026), “I have given you a time of sorrow, but you will come out more radiant and a light for all to see.”
That seems to indicate this lifetime! But God knows His perfect timing! To God be the glory!
