The Beginning & The End

Part 3. A STUDY of the Book of John continued.

JOHN 1:2 He was in the beginning with God.

This may seem repetitive of John 1:1. However, it does reinforce this fact about the LOGOS, the WORD and it does add that this unity with the triune God was there in the beginning. However, my focus will be on “The Beginning and the End”, a name for Yeshua.

Yeshua the Messiah, in the last chapter of the last book of Scripture, proclaimed:

REV 22:13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.”

The Beginning and the End = the First & the Last = Alpha & Omega = Alef-Tav (Hebrew)

All these statements mean the same thing. God was there at the beginning and He’ll be there at the end! (And then He’ll create a new heaven and a new earth!)

Yeshua “originated the whole plan of salvation, and he will determine its close; he formed the world, and he will wind up its affairs. In the beginning, the continuance, and the end, he will be recognized as the same being presiding over and controlling all.”

This statement is similar to what the LORD said through the Prophet Isaiah:

ISA 46:9 remember the former things of old;  for I am God, and there is no other;  I am God, and there is none like me,  10 declaring the end from the beginning  and from ancient times things not yet done,  saying, ‘My counsel shall stand,  and I will accomplish all my purpose,’

The LORD declared much of His purpose through the first word in the Bible, Bereshit, “In the beginning”, through the codes that were written there. (See The Beginning)

The DEITY of CHRIST

Since the same statements are made in the Old Testament for the LORD/Yahweh and for Yeshua in the New Testament, they also point to the oneness of God, that Yeshua is indeed God!

Yahweh says:

ISA 44:6 Thus says the LORD, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the LORD of hosts: “I am the first and I am the last; besides me there is no god.

These are proof statements that Yeshua is Emmanuel, “God with us”! If you believe the Scriptures, there is no doubt.

In the Old Testament, the LORD Yahweh speaks:

ISA 41:4 Who has performed and done this, calling the generations from the beginning? I, the LORD, the first, and with the last; I am he.

ISA 48:12 “Listen to me, O Jacob, and Israel, whom I called! I am he; I am the first, and I am the last.

In the New Testament, Yeshua speaks:

REV 1:8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”

REV 21:6 And he said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment.

ALEF-TAV

Now, in the first lesson of John, we compared the Hebrew Scriptures of Genesis 1:1:

בראשית ברא אלהים את השמים ואת הארץ׃

This את is called an “untranslatable mark” in Strong’s Concordance. However, from Jewish rabbis we learn that it is the symbol Alef-Tav, or in other languages, Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. Yeshua is in the middle of this very first verse of Scripture!

“Seven” is the number of God, called the “seal” of God for YAH is perfection and complete! Now I am no expert on Hebrew, but I do find it interesting that the number 7 comes up when you look up את in the concordance:

This את appears 11050 times in the OT. 1+1+5 =7

The Strong’s Hebrew number is 853. 8+5+3=16; 1+6=7

Maybe I’m reading too much into this but it works!

Eternity with Christ

Because Yeshua was in the beginning, come and pray to Him, the LORD, and receive a new beginning for yourself, a beginning of a new life in Christ.

2COR 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

That is seriously good news!
