Remember the expression “God is dead”? (Hugo, Nietzsche) Well, God is very much alive! YHVH is LIFE. However, the devil is dead! The counterforce is dead.

JOB 26:5 (AMP)
“The spirits of the dead tremble
Underneath the waters and their inhabitants.
6 “Sheol [the nether world, the place of the dead] is naked before God,
And Abaddon [the place of destruction] has no covering [from His eyes].

The devil exists yet he has no life in Christ. The devil speaks death and he kills.

JOHN 10:10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I [Yeshua] have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

The devil steals. He steals life through deception, abortion, crime, and illness.

The devil destroys.

PSALM 9:6 O enemy, … you have destroyed cities.

JER 51:25 “Behold, I am against you, O destroying mountain, Who destroys all the earth,” says the LORD. “And I will stretch out My hand against you, Roll you down from the rocks, And make you a burnt mountain.”

But the LORD YAH, being righteous and just, will destroy the destroyer.

REV 20:10 The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

THE “WALKING DEAD”

People, sinners who are under the influence of the devil are the “walking dead”. They have a dead spirit, separated from God. The Hebrew meaning of the word “death” is “separation from”.

When one physically dies, the body is separated from the spirit and the soul.

When one dies spiritually, the spirit is separated from God who is Life. One now has a dead spirit. Sin is the cause of separation from God for God is most holy.

Then if one dies physically after one has spiritually died through sin, there is no place to go but to Sheol (Hades), the place of the dead. Dead spirits are in Sheo/Hades. (Usually, this is referred to as “hell” but it is after the Millennium when souls go to “hell”. The Hebrew and Greek words are different.)

JOHN 3:18b … but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

LIFE IS IN CHRIST

But the Good News is:

JOHN 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

God made a WAY for us! That WAY is Yeshua!

JOHN 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Yeshua the Messiah is the WAY into the temple through which saints enjoy LIFE, ETERNAL LIFE.

The LORD is calling us to be different than these spiritually dead people.

“Arise, sleeping one
And stand up out of the dead ones
Arise, sleeping one,
And Christ will shine on you!”

This song is based on Ephesians 5:14, which most likely was an early Christian hymn.

EPH 5:14 Therefore He says: “Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light.”

True Christians, after they are born-again of the Spirit, have eternal life. If we live physically we have eternal life and if we die physically we have eternal life. Yet, someday, in the “resurrection of the just”, we will receive new spiritual bodies.

ISA 26:19 Your [physically] dead shall live; Together with my dead body they shall arise. Awake and sing, you who dwell in dust; For your dew is like the dew of herbs, And the earth shall cast out the dead.

How to be BORN AGAIN!

However, if one believes with his heart in the Messiah, one can be born-again of the Spirit! This is the work of God.

Yeshua (Jesus) died in your place 2000 years ago. That’s why the Savior, dying in our place on the cross, came so that we could have a new spiritual birth. This is the Son of God who overcame death by His resurrection from the dead. He came to save us from spiritual death. His name is YAHshua (Yeshua, Yehoshua),“YAH saves”. He took your sin and He exchanged it for eternal life in Christ. If you will believe WITH YOUR HEART.

ROMANS 10:8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

This act of faith in Christ yields a new spirit, so one does not need to go to Hades, the place of the dead when one physically dies. Born-again spirits go to be with Christ! They now have eternal life in Christ!
