Kings, Mediums & Familiar Spirits

AngelWngs

‘Give no regard to mediums and familiar spirits; do not seek after them, to be defiled by them: I am the Lord your God.’   (Leviticus 19:31 NKJV)

A Good King

A good king is someone who obeys the LORD and sees that the land is swept clean, so to speak.   King Josiah was a good king of Israel.  He restored the Passover, God’s symbolic ceremony of deliverance through the crucified Lamb of God.   Also,

Moreover Josiah put away those who consulted mediums and spiritists, the household gods and idols, all the abominations that were seen in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem, that he might perform the words of the law which were written in the book that Hilkiah the priest found in the house of the Lord.   (2 Kings 23:24 NKJV)

In God’s book, a good king is one who frees the land of it’s abominations, idols, and mediums.  But Israel sadly had many bad kings.  You may read 1 Kings and 2 Kings to see this:  the Good Kings cleaned the land of gross sin and the Bad Kings polluted the land with sin.

A Medium

A medium, or necromancer, or diviner is someone who calls on supernatural powers other than God.  Their witchcraft pollutes the land and makes it unholy.

Divination:  the art or practice that seeks to foresee or foretell future events or discover hidden knowledge usually by the interpretation of omens or by the aid of supernatural powers  (Merriam-Webster)

A medium, and she called herself a medium, made a New Age* video about the appearance of angels.   These angels, maybe unknown to her,  would be fallen angels or demons, of course, because you cannot command a Godly angel to be seen.  Angels from the throne room of God come only if YHWH allows it.   But this medium said, “You are invoking angelic presence, you have a certain expectation to see angel form.  Now, the angels will work with you.  The angel will come, come the way you expect to see them.

Invoke.  It means to appeal to an authority, in this case, an authority that is not God!  You are calling on something and you want to see them.  Yet God has not been consulted.

Isaiah 8:19 (NKJV)  And when they say to you, “Seek those who are mediums and wizards, who whisper and mutter,” should not a people seek their God? Should they seek the dead on behalf of the living?

King Saul sought the dead, and for it, and other transgressions, lost the kingship of Israel for all time!

King Saul Consults a Medium (1 Samuel 28:3-25)

This scenario in Scripture is NOT a justification of witchcraft.  It is quite the opposite!  There are now “Christian” witches, an oxymoron!  They are totally deceived!

King Saul, after having sent the mediums and wizards out of the land, sinned by  seeking out a medium, a diviner!

6 And when Saul inquired of the Lord, the Lord did not answer him, either by dreams or by Urim or by the prophets. (NKJV)

Saul inquired but he didn’t wait.  Waiting on the LORD could be a test of faith! Sometimes it takes awhile to hear back from the LORD.  Sometimes God waits till the timing is just right and He is never wrong!  A battle was going on in the spirit realm and that’s why the prayer of Daniel took 21 days.  An angel came after that and said that his prayer was answered immediately, although it took 21 days for Daniel to receive a answer! (Daniel 10:12-14)

But King Saul was impatient so he disobeyed and contacted a necromancer.  This medium at Endor was engaging in a “profession, which was forbidden by the divine law”.   [Jamieson-Fausset-Brown Bible Commentary]

7 Then said Saul unto his servants, Seek me a woman that hath a familiar spirit, that I may go to her, and inquire of her. And his servants said to him, Behold, there is a woman that hath a familiar spirit at Endor.  (KJV)

A medium is one with a “familiar spirit” inhabiting their soul; in other words, possessed by a demon or multiple demons.  (They seldom work alone!)

8 So Saul disguised himself and put on other clothes, and he went, and two men with him; and they came to the woman by night. And he said, “Please conduct a séance for me, and bring up for me the one I shall name to you.” (NKJV)

Another version says, “Consult a spirit for me. Bring up for me the one I name.”  (BSB) He named Samuel.

12 When the woman saw Samuel, she cried out with a loud voice. And the woman spoke to Saul, saying, “Why have you deceived me? For you are Saul!

The necromancer cried because she was expecting a demon to be impersonating Samuel but the actual spirit of Samuel showed up! God miraculously allowed this.  The spirit of Samuel spoke to Saul about his death to be the very next day!

Séances and necromancy are forbidden for one’s own good!   The LORD forbids His people to consult familiar spirits because they deceive.  (Deuteronomy 18:10-14)  These fallen spirits follow satan, the “father of lies.”  They may say something that seems right, but it is mixed with a lie.  These fallen angels can appear “the way you expect to see them.”  They could appear as loved ones who have died, or a light beam, orbs, or an angel.

When I was young, I dabbled in the New Age, before the LORD saved me. Christians are cautioned to stay away from anything New Age.  It is Babylon, confusion!  These practices are witchcraft, just sugar-coated for the naive.  Now, they are being called “Christian”!

As Christians, we should consult God and Scriptures on an issue, and not go to “Christian” ouija boards or “Christian” tarot cards or “Christian” witches!   These things are in the headlines, now.   This is horrific!  If you have done these things, you may want to pray this prayer to deliver you from this witchcraft.  Repent and God will forgive.

“All real or pretended witchcraft or conjuration, is a malicious or an ignorant attempt to gain knowledge or help from some creature, when it cannot be had from the Lord in the path of duty.” – Matthew Henry Commentary

Coming As Angels

As I have written before, some Christians are “practicing seeing” angels.

Perry Stone, a pastor and seen on Manna-Fest, said “An angel cannot be seen unless God opens the eyes of the person to see it … when they come as men they can be seen”   I agree.

But a Christian teacher taught this in error:  “When you receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you are then given a guardian angel that looks just like you.

I find NO place in Scripture that supports this!  She probably got this from a book because there are plenty of books out there that are not quite Scriptural.  They quote Scriptures out of context and some of the conclusions that are drawn are not biblical.

But from the New Age necromancer’s point of view, “the angels will work with you.  The angel will come, come the way you expect to see them.  If you practice seeing angels, fallen angels will manifest.  What if you want them to appear as angels of light?  Then that is how they manifest!  Maybe you want it to appear as yourself!  A familiar spirit appears manifesting as you in angel form.  Sooner or later, the familiar spirit will deceive and say something against Scripture.

I have no doubt that Christians have seen angels, but it is at the will of God.  Confused Christians may think that summoning an angel or practicing seeing an angel, will get them a true angel of God.  So this fallen spirit says that it is a guardian angel that looks like you but it is a familiar spirit!  These spirits are familiar because they know how you operate and many have been in families for generations.  They know your patterns and how you react.  Pray this prayer (same one as before) for deliverance from these demons.  You may need to go to a capable Christian or pastor for deliverance.

So I caution you, in these deceptive times, know your Bible.  Read the Word in context and preach the Word!

2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NKJV)  16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

We, Christians, are complete in Christ!

For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.   (Matthew 24:24 NKJV)

Amen.

*NOTE:  New Age is a hodge-podge of alchemy, druid religion, gnosticism, occult practices, zen buddhism, yoga, Kabbal, and such that are sinful and outside the bounds of Scripture.  Scripture is to keep us holy before God.

NOTE:  I have been a Christian for many years and I know that there are times when my spirit-man, in dreams or visions, does spiritual warfare.  I am proclaiming the gospel, that Jesus Christ is LORD.  That spirit-man looks like me, because it IS me.   I am spirit, soul, and body.  But I know it is me! It is not my guardian angel.
