“Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your king is coming to you; righteous and having salvation is he, humble and mounted on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.”  Zechariah 9:9

Jewish tradition says that the Shekhinah or Divine Presence of God would appear through the Eastern Gate. It will appear again when the Messiah comes again! (Ezekiel 44:1–3)

ZERUBBABEL

“Then he said to me, “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the LORD of hosts.”  Zechariah 4:6 

“Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain. And he shall bring forward the top stone amid shouts of ‘Grace, grace to it!’”  Zechariah 4:7

I’ve noted the English translations of PROPER NAMES  and that will make it much clearer!  God will strengthen His House of Praise!

ZECHARIAH 10

The Restoration for Judah and Israel

1 Ask ye of the LORD rain in the time of the latter rain; so the LORD shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field.  (KJ)

From the English Standard Version:

2For the household gods utter nonsense,
and the diviners see lies;
they tell false dreams
and give empty consolation.
Therefore the people wander like sheep;
they are afflicted for lack of a shepherd.

3“My anger is hot against the shepherds,
and I will punish the leaders;

^afor the LORD of hosts cares for his flock, the house of Judah, [“house of Praise”]
and will make them like his majestic steed in battle.
4From him shall come the cornerstone,
from him the tent peg,
from him the battle bow,
from him every ruler—all of them together.
5They shall be like mighty men in battle,
trampling the foe in the mud of the streets;
they shall fight because the LORD is with them,
and they shall put to shame the riders on horses.

6“I will strengthen the house of Judah, [“house of Praise”]
and I will save the house of Joseph. [“house of ‘may YHWH give increase'”]
I will bring them back because I have compassion on them,
and they shall be as though I had not rejected them,
for I am the LORD their God and I will answer them.
7Then Ephraim [“fruitful”]  shall become like a mighty warrior,
and their hearts shall be glad as with wine.
Their children shall see it and be glad;
their hearts shall rejoice in the LORD.

8“I will whistle* for them and gather them in,
for I have redeemed them,
and they shall be as many as they were before.
9Though I scattered them among the nations,
yet in far countries they shall remember me,
and with their children they shall live and return.
10 I will bring them home from the land of Egypt, [“black land”] 
and gather them from Assyria,
and I will bring them to the land of Gilead [“monument of testimony”] and to Lebanon  [“exceedingly white”],
till there is no room for them.  
11 He shall pass through the sea of troubles
and strike down the waves of the sea,
and all the depths of the Nile shall be dried up.
The pride of Assyria shall be laid low,
and the scepter of Egypt shall depart.
12 I will make them strong in the LORD,
and they shall walk in His name,”
declares the LORD.

WALK UP & DOWN

The New King James says:

12 “so I will strengthen them [Judah] in the LORD, and they shall walk up and down in His name,” says the LORD.”

This “walk up and down” is Hebrew 1980.  It is used in Zechariah 6:7.

“When the strong horses came out, they were impatient to go and patrol the earth. And he said, “Go, patrol the earth.” So they patrolled the earth.” (Zech 6:7)

It is also used here (H1980):

“The LORD said to Satan, “From where have you come?” Satan answered the LORD and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking up and down on it.”” (Job 1:7; also 2:2)

Now this is a Hebrew idiom that means “proudly strutting” and it implies ownership.  The devil and his henchmen had their day…. but the end time is upon us.  Satan’s time is almost up!

We are the sons of God.

“You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.”  Galatians 3:22

We are becoming the sons of God in maturity.

“18 … to the glory that will be revealed in us.  The creation waits in eager expectation for the revelation of the sons of God….  23 And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. 24 For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? 25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.”

(Romans 8:18-19)

This is our “Blessed Hope”, the “glorious appearing”  of  Our Savior!  (Titus 2:13)

We won’t strut proudly because we owe it ALL to our Savior Yeshua.  We will boast in the LORD our God!

This Day belongs to Yeshua our King for “the earth is the Lord’s and the fullness therein!”  (Psalm 24:1)
