Some scholars are convinced that this is the seal of Jezebel.

REV 18:7 In the measure that she glorified herself and lived luxuriously, in the same measure give her torment and sorrow; for she says in her heart, ‘I sit as queen, and am no widow, and will not see sorrow.’ 18 Therefore her plagues [Babylon] will come in one day—death and mourning and famine. And she will be utterly burned with fire, for strong is the Lord God who judges her.

The queen of heaven is noted in the Book of Jeremiah as a false idol. (JER 7:18 & JER 44:19) 

JER 7:18 The children gather wood, the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead dough, to make cakes [hot-cross buns] for the queen of heaven; and they pour out drink offerings to other gods, that they may provoke Me to anger.

This queen of heaven’s heinous spirits has influenced people for many, many centuries. That’s why the Scriptures tell us to avoid idolatry at all costs, for that is what these spirits promote. That’s why we are told to have no statues to which one could bow down.

ISRAEL’S HARLOTRY

1COR 10:14 Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry.

Israel was the means by which the gospel of amazing grace and Yeshua the Messiah came to the whole world. So it was crucial for mankind to keep Israel loyal to the One True God. So whenever Israel went into blatant idolatry, they encountered the severity of God. They lost battles and went into exiles, due to their worship of false gods. They were no longer under the protection of the Holy One of Israel.

DEUT 10:12 And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways and to love Him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, 13 and to keep the commandments of the Lord and His statutes which I command you today for your good?

This worship of idols does not demonstrate a love of the One True God that made heaven and earth.

The queen of heaven’s spirits

There are more than one spirit behind this queen of heaven – she has many spirits. (If you have been around a deliverance ministry, you would know that there are probably at least three working together. Remember the demon-possessed man? When asked by Yeshua his name, he replied “My name is Legion; for we are many.” Mark 5:9) This queen of heaven has numerous spirits.

The queen of heaven is an idol. The image is nothing.

ISA 44:9 Those who make an image, all of them are useless,
And their precious things shall not profit;
They are their own witnesses;
They neither see nor know, that they may be ashamed.
10 Who would form a god or mold an image
That profits him nothing?

Yet, the spirits who hang around these images are working to influence people into evil. These spirits are similar to those of the historical Jezebel.

The spirits of Jezebel

Jezebel (of 1&2 Kings) had many demonic spirits working in her pathetic life. It is sometimes called collectively the “spirit of Jezebel” entailing idolatry, manipulation, witchcraft and false worship. These ungodly spirits are named in the Scriptures.

2 Kings 9:22 Now it happened, when Joram saw Jehu, that he said, “Is it peace, Jehu?” So he answered, “What peace, as long as the harlotries of your mother Jezebel and her witchcraft are so many?”

Seen in this verse are a spirit of harlotry/whoredom and a spirit of divination/witchcraft.

Queen Jezebel was responsible for Baal and Ashtoreth* worship which was a opposed to the first commandment (Exodus 20:3). This would be a spirit of antichrist, a spirit of harlotry, a perverse spirit and also spirit of confusion which is a mixture of some truth with falsehood.

ISA 1:21 How the faithful city has become a harlot!

She deceived Israel into baby-killing before Baal.

“Jezebel massacred the prophets of the Lord” 1 Kings 18:4 This would indicate a spirit of error for the truth of God’s word was told through the prophets. This killing also exhibits a spirit of jealousy. The spirit of Jezebel kills out of jealousy. (Think of Cain and Abel. )

She controlled the weak King Ahab into wickedness. (1 Kings 21:25) These would be a haughty spirit (pride), a spirit of fear (causing one to fear), and a deceiving/seducing spirit.

Jezebel seduced the king through manipulation. The incident when Naboth was murdered for his vineyard (1 Kings 21:1-16) shows a seducing spirit, a lying spirit, and a spirit of jealousy (theft).

Jezebel was definitely a control-freak! This would be a haughty spirit. This is what brought down Lucifer (satan), referenced here in Isaiah 14:4 as the king of Babylon!

As prophesied by a true prophet Elijah, Jezebel’s final end was brutal: dogs ate her flesh. (2 Kings 9:36)

JEZEBEL in REVELATION

1 TIM 4:1 (ASV) But the Spirit saith expressly, that in later times some shall fall away from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons, 2 through the hypocrisy of men that speak lies …

Jezebel is cited in the Book of Revelation as a spiritual type. Christians need to discern this “spirit of Jezebel” as it does threaten the true Church.

This is a prophetic warning that Christ gave to the church of Thyatira:

REV 2:20 Nevertheless I have a few things against you, because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess [pride], to teach and seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality [perverse] and eat things sacrificed to idols. [harlotry] 21 And I gave her time to repent of her sexual immorality, and she did not repent. [pride]

Jezebel considered herself a prophetess but this was self-appointed, not led by the Spirit of God. That’s how false prophecy gets into the Church. She cons believers. She spiritually manipulates them and compromises them with false doctrine.

Today, this spirit of Jezebel can be seen through spineless leaders who tolerate this spirit of error, mixing truth with false worship, driving them into occult practices, and luring them to be carnally minded.

ROM 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

Syncretism is the result. This seduces believers into spiritual compromise and silences true spiritual sensitivity.

Mystery Babylon

REV 17:1 Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and talked with me, saying to me, “Come, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot who sits on many waters, 2 with whom the kings of the earth committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth were made drunk with the wine of her fornication.”

The great harlot rides the beast which symbolizes political power just as Jezebel controlled King Ahab. She seduces kings and “makes the nations drunk” with spiritual fornication.

Just as the historical Jezebel’s final end was heinous, so Babylon will be burned with fire. The spirit of Jezebel ends with Mystery Babylon in the great wrath of God.

OTHER NAMES

Rebecca Greenwood is a Christian speaker and author of “The Queen of Heaven Exposed”. When she was speaking with the LORD, He told her, “Don’t you know, the church’s final battle is with her.” Meaning the “queen of heaven”! This is the spirit of Queen Jezebel! (Video of Mrs. Greenwood)

This spirit of Jezebel goes by other names:

Ashtoreth*, the Canaanite fertility goddess, the consort of Baal, called “the abomination of the Ammonites” (1 Kings 11:5); Astarte; Artemis, the many-breasted goddess; Cybele; Diana; Hathor, an Egyptian solar deity; Ishtar/Inanna, a Mesopotamian goddess of war, love, and fertility; Isis; Jezebel; Lilith/Lilit; Mami Wata, a water spirit; Santa Muerte, a female skeletal figure; Earth Mother Tonantzin, better known as the Lady of Guadelupe.

The “spirit of Jezebel” is in many various goddesses throughout time including this “fake Mary”; the “great harlot” of Revelation 17; and religious Babylon.

REV 17:16 And the ten horns which you saw on the beast, these will hate the harlot, make her desolate and naked, eat her flesh and burn her with fire. 17 For God has put it into their hearts to fulfill His purpose, to be of one mind, and to give their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God are fulfilled. 18 And the woman whom you saw is that great city which reigns over the kings of the earth.”

Women = great harlot = religious Babylon = queen of heaven = Jezebel: They all manifest the same evil spirits!

The queen of heaven/Jezebel “says in her heart, ‘I sit as queen, and am no widow….”

To whom is she married? Ashtoreth, another name for this spirit of Jezebel, is the consort of Baal! The hosts, with its sun-shaped monstrance, a symbol of Baal, is worshipped daily in the Roman Catholic Church.

CONCLUSION

As it says in the Book of Revelation, “Come out of her [Babylon], My people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues.” (REV 18:4 NKJV) Pray this prayer if you need to repent!

We have been given free will and so we have the right to choose whom to serve: the Holy One of Israel or the seductive systems of idolatry and compromise.

This is also from Yeshua’s warning to the Church of Thyatira:

REV 2:22 Indeed I will cast her into a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of their deeds. 23 I will kill her children with death, and all the churches shall know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts. And I will give to each one of you according to your works.
