And Israel Will Dwell Securely

Written by:

It may seem unlikely to some, but the promise of YHWH is that Israel will dwell securely.

THE PROMISE

Jeremiah 23:5 ESV

“Behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, and he shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land. 6 In his days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell securely. And this is the name by which he will be called: ‘The LORD is our righteousness.’

7 “Therefore, behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when they shall no longer say, ‘As the LORD lives who brought up the people of Israel out of the land of Egypt,’ 8 but ‘As the LORD lives who brought up and led the offspring of the house of Israel out of the north country and out of all the countries where he had driven them.’ Then they shall dwell in their own land.”

The LORD is doing this –  “out of the north country and out of all the countries where he had driven them”– NOW and in the past for some decades.  (Also, see JER 16:14-15.)

This is also a prophecy from Ezekiel:

EZE 28:25 “Thus says the Lord GOD: When I gather the house of Israel from the peoples among whom they are scattered, and manifest my holiness in them in the sight of the nations, then they shall dwell in their own land that I gave to my servant Jacob. 26 And they shall dwell securely in it, and they shall build houses and plant vineyards. They shall dwell securely, when I execute judgments upon all their neighbors who have treated them with contempt. Then they will know that I am the LORD their God.”

Part of this promise, that some descendants of Abraham are dwelling in Israel, has and is happening, but the Israelites are not “dwelling securely” YET. But this too shall happen. THEY WILL DWELL SECURELY! We have God’s WORD on it!

But the Hamas attack on Israel (October 7, 2023) and the more recent Iranian attack of drones (April 2024) shows obviously that the Jewish people are not “dwelling securely” in their Promised Land. But this promise will come true, also. It is the will of God and God keeps His promises! God is faithful!

(So, for those of you who think – some amillennialists- that everything in the Old Testament has happened already, it hasn’t.)

ALIYA

Returning the Jewish people to their homeland from the Diaspora is a long-term process.

There has always been a remnant of Jews in the Promised Land, promised by God the Father, a promise to Abraham. God keeps His promises. And the Holy One of Israel has and will bring them back. He has a plan for them in the very last days!

So just how do you get back the Jews from lands abroad?

The Jews, who had been victimized by cruel pogroms in Eastern Europe, came in this “First Aliyah” between 1881 and 1903 to settle in their original homeland of Israel, then known as Ottoman Palestine, under the rule of Muslims. This Aliyah also included Jews from Yemen.

Do you remember the movie Fiddler on the Roof ? It shows some of the violence that was inflicted upon these Jews in tsarist Russia. Maybe Tevye and his family should have gone on this “First Aliyah“! The time frame of the that Aliyah is basically the same as the Russian Revolution of 1905 begins later in that movie.

Especially with the horrors of the Holocaust during World War II, where could the Jewish population go to live? The LORD had a plan and it was there in the old time prophets. Since Israel became a sovereign nation in 1948, more than 3.3 million Jews have had the privilege of making aliyah.

PLANTING VINEYARDS

“The Jews will return to Palestine and make the desert bloom like a rose.”

Elias Cornelius Boudinot, (1835-1890), the first Native American lawyer (Cherokee) who practiced before the U.S. Supreme Court.

This is according to the prophecy of Amos:

AMOS 9:13 “Behold, the days are coming,” declares the LORD,
“when the plowman shall overtake the reaper
and the treader of grapes him who sows the seed;
the mountains shall drip sweet wine,
and all the hills shall flow with it.
14 I will restore the fortunes of my people Israel,
and they shall rebuild the ruined cities and inhabit them;
they shall plant vineyards and drink their wine,
and they shall make gardens and eat their fruit.
15 I will plant them on their land,
and they shall never again be uprooted
out of the land
that I have given them,”
says the LORD your God

So Israel will never be uprooted again! It is a promise of God! No matter what happens, the Jewish race will remain through the Millennial Reign of Christ and into eternity.

ISRAEL in the VERY LAST DAYS

This is the LORD’s plan for Israel:

ZECH 12:8 “In that day the LORD will defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and the one who is feeble among them in that day will be like David, and the house of David will be like God, like the angel of the LORD before them. 9 “And in that day I will set about to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.

The nations that come against Jerusalem will be destroyed by the LORD.

ZECH 9:14 Then the LORD will appear over them,
and his arrow will go forth like lightning;
the Lord GOD will sound the trumpet
and will march forth in the whirlwinds of the south.
15 The LORD of hosts will protect them
16 On that day the LORD their God will save them,
as the flock of his people;

This the LORD Yeshua spoke about in His parable about separating the sheep [His people] from the goats:

MATT 25:31 “When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. 32 All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats.

This passage relates particularly to the endtime scenario, as to how people treat the LORD’s flock. (See All Set, All Out, & All In, especially “All In” on Matthew 25.)

This Scripture, concerning Israel, confirms this:

EZE 34:13 And I will bring them out from the peoples and gather them from the countries, and will bring them to their own land; I will feed them on the mountains of Israel, …. 17‘And as for you, O My flock, thus says the Lord God: “Behold, I shall judge between sheep and sheep, between rams and goats… 28 And they shall no longer be a prey for the nations, nor shall beasts of the land devour them; but they shall dwell safely, and no one shall make them afraid.

Israeli Disengagement from Gaza

Between August and September 2005, Israelis were expelled from Gaza in an attempt at a “Land-for-Peace” deal. On the news I saw these people being torn from their homes, and I actually cried. These were the biological brethren of Our LORD and Savior being “disengaged”! The deadline for this was August 15.

This “Land-for-Peace” deal was done under Prime Minister Ariel Sharon. President George W. Bush endorsed it. Sadly.

On August 23, 2005 Hurricane Katrina formed. “Katrina displaced over one million people from the central Gulf coast to elsewhere across the United States, becoming the largest diaspora in the history of the United States.” ~ Wikipedia.

Coincidence? I think not. (I read a book about hurting Israel and the consequences of it. If you are familiar with this book, please write me and I will include the title of it.)

GEN 12:3 “I will bless those who bless you,
And I will curse him who curses you;
And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

The “Land-for-Peace” deal doesn’t work. Hamas wants to wipe out Israel! The Palestinian Authority gained control of Gaza in 2005 and there have been rockets launched frequently from there and underground tunnels built into Israel for terror.

This tragedy of October 7th could have been avoided if Hamas didn’t have so much control over the Palestinians.

So how do we treat the Jews?

Some Jews are God-fearing and keep the Torah. Some Jews are secular. Some are ungodly freemasons. Some are fake Jews, not believing in the Scriptures, the promise of Messiah. (See REV 2:9; REV 3:9) But Israel belongs to those descended from the tribes of Israel.

Those who are descended from the tribes of Israel (I will generally refer to them as Jews) have the right to defend themselves against the Islamic terrorists, who would have no Jews in the Promised Land. “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” is a slogan for terrorist groups and their sympathizers, meaning no Israel!

Not every Palestinian is a terrorist. Many Palestinians desire to dwell and work in comfort in Israel. But their lives have been upset by this war. They are being controlled by the Islamic terrorists. The news is biased, coming from Islamic sources. Yet, who are the Palestinians?

“The former group of Arabs in the West Bank comprise the original Palestinians, although today their ranks have been joined by a large number of Arabs who originally lived outside the borders of Israel. These came from Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, Iraq, and other Middle Eastern countries allied with the original Arab League charter to remove all Jews from the Land. ~ Dr. Randall Price in “Unholy War” (p 112) (My emphasis)

The Islamic religion wrongly thinks that once a land has been Islamic then it is an affront to ‘allah’ not to remain Islamic. Therefore, they must bring the area back to Islam through jihad.

Again, Israel, as a nation, is not always in the right, especially in the horror of war. People, soldiers, in a wartime scenario, make terrible mistakes or misjudge things that they wouldn’t if it were a normal time. But Israelis have been in a wartime scenario basically since 1948 against militant Islamists who want to kill all Jews. The Israelis never know when a terrorist will drop a bomb, so-to-speak. The radical Muslims hide behind children, women and human shields. Much of the judgment of the world goes against the Israeli Defense Force who abide by the Geneva Convention rules. However, terrorists don’t keep any rules. An example: a sign reading “No guns allowed” will not keep lawless criminals from breaking that rule!

“Hamas relies on the Israeli government’s aim to minimise collateral damage, and is also aware of the West‘s sensitivity towards civilian casualties. Hamas’ use of human shields is therefore likely aimed at minimising their own vulnerabilities by limiting the Israeli Defense Forces’ (IDF) freedom of action. It is also aimed at gaining diplomatic and public opinion-related leverage, by presenting Israel and the IDF as an aggressor that indiscriminately strikes civilians.” – from NATO.

But Hamas IS a terror organization and they were the attacker! So, at a college campus, a big screens has been set up to show the Oct. 7 attack on Israel – the absolute bloody horror of this brutal attack on the Israelites who brought us the Word of God!

That is because this battle is ultimately a battle between Satan, and all the ungodly nations that follow this deceiver, and the Holy One of Israel. YHWH will win! When Christ returns, He will save Jerusalem, where the final battle will be! All there will know that it is Yeshua the Messiah who has delivered them, the One with the nail scars in His hands!

ZECH 12:10 “I will pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the Spirit of grace and of supplication, so that they will look on Me whom they have pierced; and they will mourn for Him, as one mourns for an only son, and they will weep bitterly over Him like the bitter weeping over a firstborn. 11 “In that day there will be great mourning in Jerusalem …

We look forward to the day when the battle is over, and peace reigns on the earth, and “Israel will dwell securely”! Saints, we have much to look forward to! We will be ruling and reigning with Him!

DAN 7:27 And the kingdom and the dominion
and the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven
shall be given to the people of the saints of the Most High;
his kingdom shall be an everlasting kingdom,
and all dominions shall serve and obey him.’

“God’s Kingdom is an everlasting Kingdom!” from song “Dominion”
