Psalm 119 is a Hebrew acrostic poem and the longest psalm in the Scripture. The theme is “the Word of God” with focus on the “word”, “law” (torah), and “commandment”.

(Unless otherwise noted, these Scriptures are from Psalm 119.)

THE WORD

We are so blessed to have His Word! God did not leave us without instructions or “torah”. As a good Father, He gave us His Word! And then “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son”, Yeshuah (Jesus), the Word made flesh! (John 3:16)

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (John 1:1)

The Word always is and was!

“’I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,’ says the Lord, ‘who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.’” Revelation 1:8

Yeshuah was the manifestation of God in human flesh. He came into the earth as a Babe. At the age of thirty-three, He died on the cross to pay for our sins, and three days later He was resurrected! He ascended into heaven. All this was done so that we could live eternally with Him! Praise God!

“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us …” (John 1:14)

“God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, 2 has in these last days spoken to us by His Son…” (Hebrews 1:1-2a)

God speaks through His Son Yeshuah!

“The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.” (John 1:18b)

Yeshuah is the WORD!

TRUTH

The Word of God is most important for it reveals to us the TRUTH for getting through this existence on earth! The LORD, gave me a revelation years ago, when I was still unfamiliar with Scripture, that His Word, in its original form, is absolute TRUTH! Of course, it does say this in His Word!

89 Forever, O Lord,
Your word is settled in heaven.

142 Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness,
And Your law is truth.

“I AM the way, the truth, the life.” (John 14:6)

Yeshuah is TRUTH!

LIGHT

105 Your word is a lamp to my feet
And a light to my path.

129 Your testimonies are wonderful;
Therefore my soul keeps them.
130 The entrance of Your words gives light;
It gives understanding to the simple.

Yeshuah is “… the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world.” (John 1:9)

“I AM the light of the world” (John 8:12; see also 1:9)

Yeshuah is LIGHT!

LIFE

50 This is my comfort in my affliction,
For Your word has given me life.

93 I will never forget Your precepts,
For by them You have given me life.

“And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.” 1 John 5:11

This Life is in Yeshuah. His life is eternal and so ours will be also!

Yeshuah said, “I AM the Resurrection and the Life. Whoever believes in Me, though he die, yet shall he live and everyone who lives and believes in Me, shall never die. Do you believe this?” (John 11:25-26)

If you DO believe, you have eternal life!

“In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.” (John 1:4)

“I AM the way, the truth, the life.” (John 14:6)

Yeshuah is the LIFE!

WISDOM

97 Oh, how I love Your law!
It is my meditation all the day.
98 You, through Your commandments, make me wiser than my enemies;
For they are ever with me.
99 I have more understanding than all my teachers,
For Your testimonies are my meditation.
100 I understand more than the ancients,
Because I keep Your precepts.
101 I have restrained my feet from every evil way,
That I may keep Your word.
102 I have not departed from Your judgments,
For You Yourself have taught me.
103 How sweet are Your words to my taste,
Sweeter than honey to my mouth!
104 Through Your precepts I get understanding;
Therefore I hate every false way.

“and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.” (2 Tim 3:15)

The Scriptures are His Words and it is through His Word that we become wise!

“But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God— (1 Cor 1:30a)

It is He who gives us wisdom for He is the WISDOM from God!

Yeshuah is WISDOM

HOPE

147 I rise before the dawning of the morning,
And cry for help;
I hope in Your word.

“…. by command of God our Savior and of Christ Jesus our hope…” 1 Timothy 1:1

“Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ” (Titus 2:13 KJV)

(Both of these verses show that Yeshuah is “God our Savior” and the “great God and our Savior Jesus Christ”!)

We have “the hope of eternal life”.  (Titus 3:7)

Yeshuah is our HOPE!

CONCLUSION

Yeshuah is the Word, the Truth, the Light, the Life, Wisdom, and our Hope!

And that’s why…

136 Rivers of water run down from my eyes,
Because men do not keep Your law.

Yet…

162 I rejoice at Your word
As one who finds great treasure.

He is my delight, my joy, and my treasure!

174 I long for Your salvation, O Lord,
And Your law is my delight.

He is my salvation and the word for “salvation” in Hebrew (H3444) transliterates to:

Yeshuah!
