THE PROMISE OF THE RAINBOW

How beautiful is a rainbow!   It is produced by the refraction and reflection of sunlight through raindrops.  When you see a rainbow what does it stir in your heart?   Delight?  Wonder?  Hope?  It is a wonderful symbol of promise and hope.

My hope is to “bring you good news of the promise made to the fathers”.

THE PROMISE OF THE RAINBOW

The rainbow is the God-given symbol of His promise to mankind never to destroy all flesh again by flood.   It’s a good promise to know, especially when it rains for days on end.   God has promised He will not wipe out all of mankind with a flood!

“I will remember My covenant that is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh. And the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh …  And God said to Noah, ‘This is the sign of the covenant which I have established between Me and all flesh that is on the earth.’”  (Genesis 9:15.17)

So the rainbow is the Creator’s chosen sign of His covenant promise.  It is scandalous to mock God by perverting the meaning of the rainbow to represent false religion or what He calls an “abomination”. (Lev 20:13) “Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.”  (Gal 6:7)  There is also His promise of a coming Day of Judgment, this time by fire.

THE PROMISE OF THE JUDGMENT OF EVIL

“3 Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. 4 They will say, “Where is this ‘coming’ He promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.” 5 But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by water. 6 By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. 7 By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.”  (2 Peter 3)

“In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire.”  (Jude 1:7)

Well. that may seem like BAD NEWS but actually the bad news IS really good news for the obedient!  Unbelievers have often accused God for allowing evil.   God  will only allow evil for a specified time, a short time when compared to infinite eternity.   His eternal Kingdom will NOT tolerate  evil.    IDOLATRY and SIN which cause  SUFFERING and DEATH will NOT be tolerated.    God will confine evil in hell.

Heb27MHC

So the Kingdom of Heaven is for all saved people who would live according to the Creator’s perfect design for mankind.

“But, according to His promise, we look for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells.”  (2 Peter 3:13)

THE PROMISE OF REDEMPTION

THE GOOD NEWS is that there is a DELIVERER even now from evil and sin!!!  Jesus Christ, who delivered a woman from seven demons (Luke 8:2) and a man from a legion of demons (Mark 5:9), can deliver you from any bad-influencing, unclean demon that has a hold on you.  The Savior can therefore deliver you from your habitual sin.

“Be saved from this perverse generation!”  (Acts 2:40)

Would you be saved from the JUDGMENT of evil to come?  The LORD loves you and wants you to be SAVED and DELIVERED from your sin!

“The Lord is not slow concerning His promise, as some count slowness; but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”  (2 Peter 3:9)

God has written in His Word that which He considers sin.   You must choose to come into agreement with His definition of sin, not your own idea, not popular opinion.  After all, the Creator YHWH is both the Lawmaker and the Judge.   All idolatry is sin.  All fornication, any sex outside of a marriage even between male and female, is sin by God’s definition.   Therefore, flee temptation!  Run to the Savior for deliverance!

“Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love Him.”  (James 1:12)

THE PROMISE OF THE MESSIAH, THE SAVIOR

For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”  (Joel 2:32; Acts 2:21; Romans 10:13)

God promised, from the very first sin in the Garden of Eden, a Savior.   The prophet Isaiah prophesied that the Messiah would be “pierced for our transgressions” and “crushed for our iniquities”.  (Isaiah 53:5)  Yes, Christ suffered and died on the cross for our salvation from the death penalty of sin!   We need only to turn to Him and believe.

The essence of repentance is to turn away from your sin and turn to GOD in the only name that saves: Jesus Christ!    “YAH saves” is the meaning of the Hebrew name “Yeshua”, in English, Jesus!

You can be born again in Christ, and the old will pass away!

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”  (2 Cor 5:17)

For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”  (Joel 2:32; Acts 2:21; Romans 10:13)

THE PROMISE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

When you receive Christ as your LORD and Savior, you receive His Holy Spirit and that Spirit enables one to live righteously.

“in whom you also, having heard the word of the truth, the Good News of your salvation, in whom, having also believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,”   (Ephesians 1:13)

Feed your soul with His Word, His Spirit!

“But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.”  (Gal 5:16)

Ask the LORD to fill you with His Spirit!

“For the promise is to you, and to your children, and to all who are far off, even as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself.”   Acts 2:39

THE PROMISE OF ETERNAL LIFE

God promises believers eternal life in His Presence!   Admit it:  what the devil tricked you into, is misery! Maybe that misery is sometimes dulled by temporary carnal pleasure, but it is misery nonetheless.  Misery has no true peace and inner rest.  Carnality has no inheritance in the Kingdom of God.

But God’s promise IN CHRIST is joy and peace and “the promise of the life which is in Christ Jesus.”   (2 Timothy 1:1)

“If you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed and heirs according to promise.”  (Galatians 3:29)

“This is the promise which He promised us, the eternal life.”  (1 John 2:25)

THE PROMISE OF TRUE LOVE

True love, a commitment to your ultimate well-being,  would have you know the truth of His great LOVE!    God is LOVE!

“Know therefore that the LORD your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love Him and keep His commandments, to a thousand generations;  and repays to their face those who hate Him, by destroying them. He will not be slack with one who hates Him. He will repay him to his face.”  (Deut 7:9-10)

“but God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”   (Romans 5:8)

Jesus Christ died on the cross because of our sins, absorbing God’s just anger at sin for all who believe and are in Christ.   Christ has risen triumphant over death, and so all who believe will rise in Him.   Christ will come again and all His saints with Him!

THE PROMISE OF HIS COMING

What a wonderful promise to know that Christ as King of Kings will come again to make all things new and set all things right!

“And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will kill with the breath of his mouth and bring to nothing by the appearance of His coming.”  (2 Thes 2:8)

Our deliverance from all evil comes with the appearance of Christ!   This is the Christian’s blessed hope!

“while we wait for the blessed hope–the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ”  (Titus 2:13)

“For the Son of Man is going to come in His Father’s glory with his angels, and then He will reward each person according to what they have done.”  (Matthew 16:27)

So have you repented and turned to God?  Have you believed His promises of eternal life in and through Christ Jesus?

May you know Him, Christ Jesus, the “image of the invisible God”  who is LIGHT and LOVE and LIFE!   (Col 1:15)

GOD KEEPS HIS PROMISES

Hebrews 10:23  “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering; for He who promised is faithful.”

Numbers 23:19 “God is not a man, that He should lie, nor the son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?”

Hebrews 6:18
“… it is impossible for God to lie…”

God said, “Let there be light” and there was light. God’s Word is creative. So if God said, the grass is purple, the grass would become purple. Therefore, He can not lie.   And He is faithful!

So next time you see a rainbow, may you remember that the faithful God YHWH has many promises for those who love Him!

Written in His love that you may be saved in Jesus Christ!  Call on His name!

For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”  (Joel 2:32; Acts 2:21; Romans 10:13)  And that’s a PROMISE!

The darkness is getting darker, (predicted in Isaiah 60:2)! We see perversion flaunted in our face! On June 24, 2018, Bing (search engine) had a picture of the Minneapolis bridge done up for gay pride.  That caused me to send out this article anew.    What does the Word of God say about perversion? And what does the Word of God say about pride?  Pride was the sin that caused satan to fall!

Does the school your children go to “celebrate” “gay” week?  Some do.  Some school systems “celebrate” it when young children shouldn’t even know what “gay” is!   Also, Disney has a gay week.  Be careful not to go there that week or your children might see something you don’t want to see!

“but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.”  Matthew 18:6

How dare they go against God’s principles?  And to cause little children to “celebrate” their perversion!   If you want to sin, keep it to yourself!

However,

1Arise, shine, for your light has come,
and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you.
2For behold, darkness shall cover the earth,
and thick darkness the peoples;
but the LORD will arise upon you,
and his glory will be seen upon you.
3And nations shall come to your light,
and kings to the brightness of your rising.

Isaiah 60
