THE PROPHETS

“If they don’t listen to Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded if one rises from the dead.”

MOSES

Moses is recognized as a Prophet of God by Jews, Christians, and Moslems.  In the “Book of Names”, God reveals Himself to Moses as YHWH (Yahweh; short form YAH) or “I AM who I AM”, the self-existent, eternal God.  (Exodus 3:14)  The One True God’s name is YHWH !

God commanded Moses to institute the Passover Lamb as a prophetic picture of Christ in our place.  The Passover Lamb died instead of the first child of every household in ancient Egypt, foreshadowing the precious blood of the Lamb of God to be shed, sparing those who trust in that sacrifice from eternal death. God’s gift of grace and redemption is free ONLY through faith in Jesus Christ, “the Lamb who takes away the sins of the world”.   Jesus Christ died on the cross so that we could live forever with our Creator!  Your sin separates you from the Holy One!  Yet, the spotless sacrifice for our sins was provided by our loving Creator by sending His only begotten Son.  That’s how much the Father loves us!

ABRAHAM

The patriarch Abraham prophesied that God Himself would supply the necessary sacrifice for man’s sin:

Abraham said, God will provide himself the lamb for a burnt offering, my son.” So they both went together…Abraham built the altar there… bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar, on the wood. Abraham stretched out his hand, and took the knife to kill his son.  The angel of Yahweh called to him out of the sky, and said, “Abraham, Abraham!” He said, “Here I am.”  He said, “Don’t lay your hand on the boy, neither do anything to him. For now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.”  Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and saw that behind him was a ram caught in the thicket by his horns. Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering instead of his son.  Abraham called the name of that place Yahweh Will Provide .  As it is said to this day, “On Yahweh’s mountain, it will be provided.” (Genesis 22:8-14)

ISAIAH

YHWH spoke through His prophet Isaiah:

“I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake;
and I will not remember your sins.”   (Isaiah 43:25)

“I Myself am Yahweh;  and besides Me there is no Savior.” (Isaiah 43:11)

Not surprisingly, Jesus or “Yeshua” (Hebrew) means “YHWH saved”.  HalleluYAH!  The “Messiah” or Savior is prophesied in this passage:

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government will be on His shoulders. His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

(Isaiah 9:6)

It must be that this “Mighty God” is also the “child”!  (Is anything too hard for YHWH?)

“This is what Yahweh, the King of Israel,

and His Redeemer, Yahweh of Hosts, says:

“I am the First, and I am the Last;

and besides Me there is no God.”

(Isaiah 44:6)

Jesus Christ revealed Himself as Alpha and Omega, the First and the Last in the Book of Revelation!

Yahweh = First and Last = Jesus Christ!

It is simple logic: If A=B and B=C, then A=C.

YHWH and Yeshua are also both  “King of Israel”, “Shepherd”, “Redeemer”, etc.

ZECHARIAH

YHWH spoke through Zechariah the prophet these words:  “I will pour on the house of David, and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplication; and they will look to Me whom they have pierced; and they shall mourn for Him, as one mourns for his only son, and will grieve bitterly for Him, as one grieves for his firstborn.”  (Zechariah 12:10)  Yes, God predicted His own piercing!  Christ was wounded for our transgressions on the cross of Calvary!  There can be no doubt that God as Jesus Christ put on human flesh and died for us….…if you believe the prophets! (And these are just but a few Scriptures.)

‘If they don’t listen to Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded if one rises from the dead.’” (Luke 16:31)  Jesus Christ spoke those words while on earth.  He is the One Who fulfilled the words of the prophets!  He is the child born, the son given, and therefore, He must also be the Everlasting Father, the Mighty God! He is the One who was wounded and pierced for our transgressions.  He is also the Holy One who did not “see decay” (Psalm 16:10) because He arose on the third day!   His resurrection was even foreshadowed in the life of the prophet Jonah!

Jesus said, “I am the Resurrection and the Life. He who believes in Me will still live, even if he dies. Whoever lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?”

(John 11:25-26)

JESUS CHRIST

Believe the words of Isaiah, David, Moses, and Abraham.  Moreover, believe the words of  Jesus.  If Christ’s words are not true, that would make Him a liar and deceiver, not a great prophet, not even a great man.  Jesus Christ claimed deity.  Either He is God or He is a liar!!!

Jesus Christ  said,

“Before Abraham was, I AM.”

(John 8:58)

Jesus spoke: For as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son also gives life to whom He desires. For the Father judges no one, but He has given all judgment to the Son, that all may honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He who doesn’t honor the Son doesn’t honor the Father who sent Him. Most certainly I tell you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and doesn’t come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life. (John 5:21-24)

If you don’t believe in Jesus Christ, you are already dead, that is, separated from God!  If you die physically, before your spirit is reborn, restored to God through faith in Jesus Christ, your soul will be eternally separated from God.

Jesus said, “The Father Himself, who sent Me, has testified about Me. You have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His form. You don’t have His word living in you; because you don’t believe Him whom He sent. You search the Scriptures, because you think that in them you have eternal life; and these are they which testify about Me…..For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote about Me. But if you don’t believe his writings, how will you believe My words?”  (John 5:37-47)

Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father, except through Me. (John 14:6)

But… “if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. ..For, “Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.”  (Romans 10:9-13)

The Holy Scriptures

The liberating Words of the prophets and Jesus Christ are recorded in the Bible.  Why else do evil men and tyrants try to suppress it?  But Almighty God has not allowed His Word to pass away despite severe censorship and persecution.  Unlike writings of other religions, the Scriptures can be objectively tested.  Its truths can be verified logically, historically and scientifically.

I recommend this website for science that shows the truth of the Word of God:

http://www.reasons.org/

God’s Word brings peace to troubled hearts, encouragement to the downtrodden, freedom to the captives, life to the spiritually dead!  Read it with a heart to know the Truth and “the Truth will set you free!”

JOHN 6:14 Then those men, when they had seen the sign that Jesus did, said,

“This is truly the Prophet who is to come into the world.”

If you believe, shout:

“HalleluYAH!  Jesus Christ is Lord!”

or “Yeshuah HaMashiach is YHWH”  (Hebrew)

STRONG’S CONCORDANCE REFERENCES: “Jesus”  = Greek 2424 derived from Hebrew 3091 meaning “Jehovah saved”.   H3068 = Jehovah;  H3050 = contraction for H3068 = Yah = “iah” =”jah”.

Mathematical Proof

“By the law of compound probabilities there was only one chance in more than 80 billion that the prophecies concerning Christ would be fulfilled in one person.”  – Dr. Bruce D. Cummings, pg 57,  The Foundation & Authority of the Word of God

And they probably didn’t include this prophecy:

And you, O tower of the flock, The stronghold of the daughter of Zion, To you shall it come, Even the former dominion shall come, The kingdom of the daughter of Jerusalem.”

Micah 4:8

The “tower of the flock” is where Jesus Christ was born! See O Little Tower of Bethlehem .
