We should be appalled at the sufferings, the bloodshed, and the tortures that are being perpetrated by the wicked right now in the Middle East.

ROM 8:36 As it is written:
“For Your sake we are killed all day long;
 We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”

This is a quote from Psalm 44:22. It was probably written at a time of tribulation for the people of Israel. Israel did suffer and the Israel of today still suffers. Israel seems to always suffer. Sometimes it is because they have gone off into idolatry, but they also suffer because they are hated by the enemy of their souls, satan. To encourage the Israelites through their suffering, the Book of Job was written, letting them know that God will one day restore and bless those who who have been persecuted for His Name.

So there is victory ahead …

ROM 8:37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

WAR IN THE HEAVENLIES

We are at war. This is a spiritual war but it is fought on the plains of the earth. It is a war between the good and the bad; the ones who want heaven’s throne upon this earth and the wicked who stand in the way.

But the LORD YHWH has purposed in His heart, for those who believe, to “delivered us from the power of darkness” and to convey “us into the kingdom of the Son of His love”! (COL 1:13) “And so all Israel will be saved”! (ROM 11:26)

HAUNTS OF CRUELTY

Did you say to yourself, “How could anyone be so cruel” at the misdeeds of Hitler? Today, this sadistic savagery still haunts the globe.

The spirit of antichrist despises the true Israelites and the true Jews because through these came the Good Seed, the Messiah, (Galatians 3:16), whom was promised to come through Eve when she fell through sin.

Satan almost destroyed the human race through the angels co-habitating with the woman. But the LORD sent a great flood to destroy the Nephilim who were actually eating other humans.

He almost destroyed the Jews during Esther’s time, but she went to the king and though he couldn’t repeal his order, he gave them the right to fight for their survival.

He might have destroyed the Good Seed when he used the wicked Herod to put to death all the male babies in Bethlehem and the surrounding areas districts, from two years old and under, in order to prevent the Messiah from coming forth. But God had an angel appear to Joseph telling him to move his family into Egypt for awhile.

The devil thought he had destroyed the Messiah when the “sons of Esau” crucified him, the hope of all the world. But God, raised Him from the dead!!! HalleluYAH!

So now, he hates both Jews and true Christians, for they are replacing the fallen angels as the true sons of God.

ROM 8:19 For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.

When Christianity was emerging, he almost did it by planting heresies – heresies that destroy the gospel – in the church. The destroyer, the “father of lies”, is still using this tactic.

The destroyer had another plan. When Constantine became the Roman Emperor, he insinuated himself into the church, making his version of “Christianity” a syncretic religion, combining Christianity with paganism. He further dissuaded the Gentile Christians from interacting with the Jews. A law of Constantine’s tried “to stop Jews from converting to Christianity. It was noted that Judaism was ‘an abominable sect’” (This is how we lost a lot of the cultural context in the Scriptures.) Under his rule and other emperors, many people were forced to become “Christians”. “Forcing” is not a belief from the heart! The physical act of baptizing in water is a wonderful Christian symbol but one must be born again of the Spirit to truly believe in the heart! (See Constantine and the Papacy.)

Constantine cemented this antisemitism. It is a shame what has been done to Jews over the many, many years through “Christians”! This is why many Jews think that the New Testament is a hateful. How could one be loving our neighbor by doing such heinous acts? Bad teachings such as Replacement Theology (also called Supersessionism) have been taught in many churches. You need only to read Romans 11 to know that God has an eternal plan for the Jews!

ROM 11:25 For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. 26 And so all Israel will be saved …

The destroyer tried to kill the Jews through the many, many “pogroms” throughout time. This is a Russian word meaning “to wreak havoc” and the wickedness in men literally wreaked havoc on many Jews throughout the years. If we are true Christians, not just in name only, we do not want to wreak havoc on anyone! Self-defense, yes, but not wreaking havoc!

The Fourth Council of the Lateran of 1215 under Pope Innocent III produced documents expressing that Jews and Muslims should wear a special dress to enable them to be distinguished from Christians so that no Christian shall come to marry them ignorant of who they are. It also forbade “that Jews be given preferment in public office since this offers them the pretext to vent their wrath against the Christians.” Certainly Pope Innocent was not “innocent” as under his headship of the then dominant religion in Europe, he caused many innocent people to be murdered!

During his tenure, Pope Paul IV (1555-1559) required Jews to live in a Roman ghetto and the males to wear pointed yellow hats. Jewish women needed to wear yellow kerchiefs.

The popes had the Jews marked! So now we see how the Jews had to wear a yellow star in the Hitler era!

And then Pope Pius IX, (1792 – 1878), re-started the Jewish ghetto in Rome.

In 1933, Pius XII signed an agreement with Hitler guaranteeing that Hitler would never be excommunicated! Under Pius XII, “ratlines” were run to get “Catholic” war criminals out of Europe into South America. Ante Pavelic, a Croatian general and military dictator, who persecuted and killed many Serbs, Jews, and Gypsies, stayed in the Vatican disguised as a priest.

Haj Amin al-Husseini, the Mufti from Jerusalem that met with Hitler and Himmler, on March 1, 1944, spoke on the radio and said, “Arabs, rise as one man and fight for your sacred rights. Kill the Jews wherever you find them.” Was this used as an incitement to genocide? Some Muslim Arabs still want to kill the Jews!” True Christian Arabs don’t.

Incidentally, I have been to churches in Israel, and there are Messianic Jews and Christian Arabs side-by-side praying for one another! In Christ, we all are one!

GAL 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

THE WAR TODAY

The next morning, after the Feast of Tabernacles ended, the war began. One could say it is a continual war. In the early morning, the evil Hamas, whose name in Hebrew means “violence” and “extreme wickedness”, transgressed the border of Israel on October 7, 2023. That evening, a special day, “Joy of the Torah”, began and the Jews would begin anew to read the Scriptures. A cantor in NY remarked, “We are holding joy and sorrow at the same time as we often do in Judaism.”

Joy and sorrow together. That is Israel. But joy will come in the morning of a NEW DAY when the Messiah returns!

Here is a memo from Hands of Mercy that operates near the Gaza border:

“Everybody in Israel has been affected. Everyone knows people who have been killed, injured, or kidnapped, and all families have family members who have been drafted into the army. The situation is heart breaking.”

The Jewish people are suffering. The innocent Palestinians are suffering. We pray for them all.

PROMISES BEING FULFILLED

This age-old tragedy will end when the LORD comes back. At that time, Yeshua HaMashiach will come, all Israel shall be saved (ZECH 12:10), and the Devil ie. the Dragon ie. Destroyer will be bound into the bottomless pit.

REV 9:11 And they had as king over them the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon, but in Greek he has the name Apollyon. [that is, destroyer]

The destroyer, wreaking havoc across the earth, will be bound for a thousand years during the Millennial Reign. Therefore, there will be peace for the Messiah is King!

But in between then and now, we are at war. It might get worse. Yet, we are living in the days when God is fulfilling His promises.

It is written that the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob has given this land of Israel to the Jews and the tribes of Israel. This happened, on May 14, 1948, that the world saw a nation reborn:

DEUT 30:5 Then the LORD your God will bring you to the land which your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it. He will prosper you and multiply you more than your fathers.

This was not to say that there were not Jews living in the Jerusalem and the surrounding area before that time. There has always been a remnant. But through wars and other incidents they were scattered abroad. Over 3000 years ago, Jerusalem became the capitol of Israel! Actually, the land that was promised to Abraham is bigger than the size of Israel today. Will God not keep His promises?

The promise is that the destroyer will be defeated and Jerusalem is the point of the final battle. Have you read the Book of Revelation?

“Behold, I am against you, O destroying mountain, says the LORD, who destroy all the earth: and I will stretch out my hand upon you, and roll you down from the rocks, and will make you a burnt mountain.” Jeremiah 51:25 (See the series Destroying Mountain )

Satan won’t win. He is up against the all-wise, all powerful, True God who created the entire universe! And He, the Holy One of Israel, wants you to join with Him!
